Andrew Hunter is an artist/writer/curator/educator based in Hamilton, Ontario. A graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Hunter has exhibited and published widely in Canada and internationally (including exhibitions at the National Gallery of Canada, Art Gallery of Ontario, Art Gallery of Alberta and Dubrovnik Museum of Modern Art) and has held curatorial and programming positions at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Hamilton, McMichael Canadian Art Collection and Kamloops Art Gallery. He has taught at OCAD (Critical and Curatorial Studies Program) and at the University of Waterloo (Faculty of Arts and School of Architecture), where he developed and ran the innovative RENDER program that emphasized community collaboration and inter-disciplinary creative research from 2006-2009. He has been the recipient of numerous Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council grants and awards.
